Pre-K Academic Curriculum

Paradise for Tot’s Pre-K curriculum is specifically designed to give a well rounded education in preparation for an increased academic environment in Kindergarten and elementary school. Our academic foundation utilizes reading, math readiness, science, social studies and arts.

Reading centers around phonetic and whole word reading curriculum with a letter of the week association to their words and reading.

Math readiness reviews number recognition, sorting, grouping, patterns and counting; connection or numerals with their quantities, awareness of time and money and shapes and sizes.

Science academic foundation introduces God’s wonderful creations such as the sun, the moon, the earth, stars and all that live within it. We additionally help to develop deductive reasoning and prediction development through simple science experiments.

Social studies focuses on introducing children to the world around them through the community members such as our local policemen, firemen, doctors and dentists. Children will learn to demonstrate knowledge about themselves and show basic understanding of people and how they live.

Arts curriculum gives our students the chance to experiment with new and fun projects within seasonal, thematic and unit projects. Our teachers ensure the crafts compliment the Bible stories and lessons within the week. Additionally, musical concepts and expressions are always encouraged in our day-to-day classroom environment.

Motor skills are prioritized to develop skills such as proper pencil and scissor holding skills, detailed paper cutting with scissors and other age appropriate fine and gross motor skills through daily physical activities.

Bi-Yearly Progress Reports are conducted by our teachers to ensure our students are on track and staying on pace with educational goals for upcoming Kindergarten programming.
